Lived Experience Advisory Board

The Fresno Madera Continuum of Care (FMCoC) Lived Experience Advisory Board (LEAB) is an advisory body intended to ensure the leadership and inclusion of those with current or past lived experience of homelessness within the FMCoC. The Committee amplifies the voices of lived expertise in FMCoC policymaking and fosters a trusting feedback loop between members with lived experience and the system of homeless and housing services in Fresno and Madera counties, and to engage that expertise in decision-making. The LEAB members will utilize the LEAB platform to share their experiences and knowledge, make recommendations for improvement, and participate in FMCoC decision-making processes. If you have questions about the LEAB or want to request to be added to a future LEAB meeting agenda, please email LEAB@fresnomaderacoc.org.

Additional Information:

- The LEAB will strive to represent the population being served by the FMCoC.

- The LEAB meets once a month on the third Monday of the month from 4:00pm to 6:00pm. Members may also be asked to participate in other activities as well (participating in Request for Proposal funding panels; participating in focus groups to provide evaluative feedback, especially regarding the Coordinated Entry System; reviewing and providing feedback on CoC services or funding plans; attending CoC meetings, etc.).

- The FMCoC will offer compensation through a flat fee model for LEAB member participation to recognize the valuable skills and experience of people with lived expertise of homelessness.

The FMCoC LEAB Governance Framework is available here.
